I had been looking forward to this show ever since Malta Fashion Week Programme was announced, mostly because I happen to be a big fan of Caroline Hili's work and also because of the splendid venue where the show was to take place - Barrakka Lift, Lascaris Wharf, Valletta. The latter did in fact turn out to create the perfect scene for Caroline's creations, as the audience kept waiting for the next model to come down the lift and show us yet another fabulous piece throughout the whole show.
With regard to this particular collection, Caroline explains how:
"My designs convey my dreams, they are an expression of my current state of mind, my thoughts, my desires and anxieties. As fearless and free as me!
I consider designing dresses a form of art, an extension of the imagination, same as painting a picture or capturing a particular “instant or emotion through a lens or on film."
Attached find some of my favourites; photos captured by JCiappara Photography.
Finally, a picture of Caroline Hili, a brilliant genius and artist.
