Yesterday saw Day 1 of Malta Fashion Week we've all been looking forward to for ages! The calendar of events read a number of exciting fashion shows, presentations and exhibitions. In particular, I was looking forward to the return of Rosemarie Abela's with her ''La Cupola'' collection and Yana's Jewellery exhibition.
In this first post (of many) here goes my bit about yesterday's LA CUPOLA and my favourite masterpieces as seen on the catwalk!
LA CUPOLA - by Rosemarie Abela
- A collection made for women who are curious and express themselves through fashion individuality. -
I have to admit that I had already seen some sneak peaks from this collection. I had loved what I saw and thus had some very high expectations from this collection.
LA CUPOLA is inpired by the Mosta Dome, Malta Skyline and the Neo-Classical period, presented with a different perspective looking at its columns, arts, windows, doors and specific silhouette of the Dome. The collection featured refined textures and a mixture of fabrics in black, browns, hues of gold, navy blue and white.
My favourite pieces included monochrome high-waisted boxy pants, all the knitwear, a navy dress and the white and gold combined skirt and top shown below.
