It's the most beautiful time of the year because we get to spend more time with our loved ones, show we care for each other, exchange pressies and toast to a great time and an even greater new year! Also, it's the most beautiful time of the year because the words SALE NOW ON is a good enough of an excuse for me to enter a shop for the nth time to see whether there'd be something (read 'things'!) to my liking :D
Ok, so I'm not the greatest at getting good bargains during sales. The hubbub of the shops during such times tends to make me nervous in a way that rather than spotting items I like at a reduced price, every piece of clothing or accessory in the outlet starts to blend into one colourless goo. That way I'm left with no choice but to exit the shop and return on a less busy day when the shop would be more organized and contain just the right amount of items rather then the items on the shop floor plus whatever items in the stock room. Having said that, I must admit that I love getting me that occasional bargain; how can anyone not be in love with the idea of looking fashionable whilst saving money?
My top three tips for how to shop for clothes/accessories during the sales period?
1. A purchase is not necessarily a good bargain just because it is super cheap. I'm more of the opinion that sale periods are the time to splurge on that high-end item that you've been eyeing for months but couldn't bring yourself to purchase because of its price.
2. When you're buying clothes, make sure you get the right fit. Don't go buying a top just because it's Eur 9.99!
3. Don't wait until the last days of the sales when stores are left with hardly any sizes and/or variety. Also, keep in mind that accessories and bags are likely the first to be sold out, due to the fact that they are sizeless. So don't leave it for the last minute, especially if you're looking for something specific.
And you?! Any tips you'd like to share?
